NBC’s 2010 Olympics website is social media aware.   A section of the website called “Olympic Pulse” tracks blogs and tweets related to the Olympics.   A slick feature is a near real-time metering of tweet activity.  Take a peek at it at http://www.nbcolympics.com/olympicpulse/tweet-tracker/index.html

At around 11:59 tonight it was measuring a volume of nearly 7,000 tweets in a 10 minute period.  Half an hour later the volume was down to about 2,000 tweets in 10 minutes.  It may be interesting to keep an eye on the “Tweet Meter” to see what people are reacting to at the Olympics.

If that doesn’t strike your fancy, you can read the latest Olympic tweets at http://www.nbcolympics.com/olympicpulse/tweets/index.html
