End of Life & End of Support Information
Windows 2000 has reached its end of life. Support for Windows 2000 Server ended on July 1, 2008. Mainstream support for Windows 2000 Professional (Workstation) ended on June 30, 2005. Extended support for Windows 2000 Professional ends on July 13, 2010. There will not be any more Service Packs or security fixes.

If you are using Windows 2000 on a standalone computer that is fine. If you are using Windows 2000 on a computer connecting to the Internet, it is time to consider upgrading your operating system or buying a new computer with a newer operating system.
