About the City
This was my third city to develop. It was created solely to produce food and consume resources in trade with my other two cities.
The design of the urban area was simple. Follow a natural valley leading to the fertile area and build the residential area in the valley with minimal industry on either side. The primary focus was on building a network of roads to allow a lot of trade for the food industry. The roads in this city follow the natural terrain, which was challenging at times.
The city currently is producing an excessive amount of food for the region and can support the food requirements for two more major cities. One thing that I learned quickly is that the normal allocation of silos and fertilizer that you can earn in the game are inadequate to serve a large farm area. It was necessary to use the all buildings cheat to add more silos and fertilizer plants to have a healthy food industry.
The city lacks leisure resources and so the only happy folks are the unskilled labor. With the income being produced this could be corrected by adjusting taxes and adding some leisure facilities.
